Viveki Rai, Indian author, Died at 92


Viveki Rai was born on November 19, 1924, and died on November 22, 2016.

He was an Indian writer

Rai has penned over fifty books.

He was presented with the Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan Award in 2001 and the Yash Bharati Award in 2006 in recognition of his contributions to Hindi literature.

Rai was a famous literary figure of Hindi and Bhojpuri literature.

Rai belongs to Sonwani village in Ghazipur.

Rai was well known Hindi Lalit Nibandhakaar.

Rai got many awards from U P Govt.

Viveki has written more than 50 books. Sonamati is a popular novel of Mr.Rai.

Rai was awarded Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan Award in 2001 and Uttar Pradesh’s prestigious Yash Bharati Samman award in 2006 for his contribution to Hindi literature.

Rai has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Samman by the Uttar Pradesh government.

He has been awarded by Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Award of Srimath Kashi on January 14, 2012 in Varanasi.

Viveki criticized Indian Emergency through his novel Katra bi Aarzoo written by Rahi Masoom Raza, which is the most direct and effective condemnation in Hindi fiction.

Rai has also published some good essays.

He died following a long illness.

Viveki Rai passed away at 92 years old.
