Moeenuddin’s father, Mohyeddin Ahmad Qureshi, was a civil servant in the British government and his mother, Khursheed Jabin, was a housewife.
Qureshi attended the Islamia College Lahore and Government College University in Lahore where he gained B.A. (Honors) in Economics and received an M.A. in Economics from the Punjab University.
Qureshi received the Fulbright scholarship and went to the United States to attend the Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he earned a PhD in Economics in 1955.
He died in Washington due to a lung infection.
Moeenuddin Ahmad Qureshi passed away at 86 years old.
