Robert Taussat, French historian and author, Died at 96

Robert Taussat was born on June 24, 1920, in Talence, Gironde, France and died on December 31, 2016.

He was a French local historian, biographer, and novelist.

Taussat was the author of fifteen books, and the recipient of the 1993 Prix Eugène Carrière from the Académie française.

Taussat was the president of the Société des lettres, sciences et arts de l’Aveyron for two decades and the subject of a 2014 documentary about his life.

Taussat’s family came from Montfaucon, Lot

He began his career as a history teacher in Confolens.

Taussat’s funeral will be held at the Rodez Cathedral on 3 January 2017.

Robert Taussat passed away at 96 years old.
