Ram Ekbal Singh Warsi was born in 1922 and died on October 10, 2016.
He was an Indian freedom fighter, social thinker from Bhojpur, Bihar.
He worked in Rohtas Group of Industries as a manual worker, and became an activist for Indian Independence in 1938.
Warsi joined Subash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army in 1943.
Warsi was elected an MLA from Piro (now named Tarari) constituency on a ticket from Sanghata Socialist Party in 1969.
Warsi represented the constituency in Bihar Legislative Assembly till 1972.
Also in 1956 the Socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia had named Warsi as Gandhi of Piro (Piro ke Gandhi).
He died in Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science.
Ram Ekbal Singh Warsi passed away at 94 years old.
