Neil Graham, New Zealand businessman and philanthropist, Died at 71

Neil Graham died on September 30, 2015.

He was a New Zealand businessman and philanthropist.

Graham was the co-founder of Mainfreight.

He received recognition on the NBR Rich List with a net worth of $100 million.

His business interest were hospitality, livestock, tourism, property and forestry ventures.

He was known by online auction sites, TradeMe and Wheedle.com.

Has a philanthropist, he has donated to the ‘Gorillas’, to Christchurch’s Orana Park and public artworks such as Martin Creed’s neon creation for the Christchurch Art Gallery.

Neil also funded the purchase of an artwork by renowned British artist Martin Creed for the Christchurch Art Gallery.

In 1979, Neil joined Bruce Plested to take over the running of fledgling trucking business Mainfreight.

His business was the country’s largest freight company with a value of $1.5 billion.

Neil was an officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2013.

Neil Graham passed away at 71 yrs old.
