Les Belshaw, British rugby league player, Died at 88


Les Belshaw born in 1927 and died on February 11, 2016.

He was an English sports writer, rugby photographer, and professional rugby league footballer.

He was known in the 1950s, and coach of the 1960s.

He was playing at club level for Doncaster, and Barrow, as a prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums, and coaching at club level for Doncaster.

He played Left-prop, i.e. number 8, in Barrow’s 21-12 victory over Workington Town in the 1955, Challenge Cup final during the 1954–55 season at Wembley Stadium, in London on Saturday, April 30, 1955.

Les Belshaw passed away at 88 yrs old.
