Yves Guéna, French politician, Died at 93


Yves Guéna was born on July 6, 1922, and died on March 3, 2016.
He was a French politician.
Yves joined the Free French Forces in the United Kingdom, in 1940,
Guéna received several decorations for his courage.
Yves Guéna belonged to various right wing parties: Union pour la nouvelle République (1962–1968), the Union of Democrats for the Republic (1968–1978) and the Rally for the Republic (1978–1997).
Yves Guéna occupied several posts as minister.
He was the minister of information, during the year 1968.
Guéna was a member of the Parliament between 1962 and 1981 and then again between 1986 and 1988.
Also, he was a senator between 1989 and 1997.
Guéna was named president of the Constitutional Council of France, in 2000.
Yves Guéna leave his function in 2004 before to become president of the Arab World Institute until 2007.
Yves Guéna passed away at 93 yrs old.
