American judge William Alfred Newsom III was born on February 15, 1934, in San Francisco, California and died on December 12, 2018.
He was an American state appeals court judge, administrator of the Getty family trust, and the father of former San Francisco Mayor, current Lieutenant Governor of California, and Governor-elect of California Gavin Newsom.
William Newsom was the son of Christine (née Brennan) and William A. Newsom II.
Newsom was known as Bill to all friends and family.
Newsom had longstanding political and financial ties, a lifelong San Franciscan.
Newsom’s father ran the Pat Brown campaign for San Francisco district attorney.
Later, he became governor of California.
His late sister Barbara was once married to Ron Pelosi, brother-in-law of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
Newsom was also a close friend of Gordon Getty, son of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, who resided in his house 1940s while attending St. Ignatius Catholic prep school in San Francisco.
William Newsom passed away at 84 years old.
