Ricardo Piglia, Argentine author, Died at 75


Ricardo Piglia was born on November 24, 1941, and died on January 6, 2017.

He was one of the foremost contemporary Argentine writers.

He resided for a number of years in the United States, where he taught Latin American literature at Princeton University.

However, in 2011, after retirement, he decided to return with his wife to his home country, where he lived ever since.

During 2013, Piglia was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

He died in Buenos Aires, Argentina after struggling for a long time with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
