Ramesh Chandra Agarwal was born on November 30, 1944, and died on April 12, 2017.
He was a Media proprietor and founder of Dainik Bhaskar.
Ramesh Chandra Agarwal was the chairman of the Dainik Bhaskar group of newspapers that has a presence in 14 states of India with 62 editions and has an estimated readership of over 15 million.
Agarwal started Dainik Bhaskar newspaper in 1958.
During 1983, he launched the Indore edition and in 1996 first time Dainik Bhaskar went out of Madhya Pradesh to Rajasthan.
Agarwal has been on the Board of D.B. Corp Limited since 10 December 2005.
Agarwal held a post-graduate degree (Master’s in Arts) in Political Science from Bhopal University, Bhopal.
Agarwal had over 42 years of experience in the publishing and newspaper business and was engaged in the running of the organization for over four decades.
Agarwal was also the Chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry – Madhya Pradesh.
Agarwal had been awarded the Rajeev Gandhi Life time Achievement Award in Journalism.
Agarwal was awarded within 50 most powerful Business houses by India Today Magazine in 2003, 2006 and 2007.
Agarwal was ranked 95 on the forbes list of India’s Richest in 2012.
Agarwal has three sons actively involved in his business- Girish Agarwal (Non executive director DB corp ltd), Sudhir Agarwal (MD DB Corp Ltd), Pawan Agarwal (Dy M D DB Corp ltd).
Agarwal also has a daughter whose name is Bhawna Agarwal married to Vishal Agarwal.
