Philippe Marie Eugène, Count d’Ursel was born on June 28, 1920, in Bern, Switzerland and died on March 26, 2017.

He was a Swiss-born Belgian alpine skier and a member of the prominent Ursel family.

He held the title of “Comte” (or “Count”) since birth.

He competed at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz and finished 70th in a field of 111 competitors in the men’s downhill event and 39th in a field of 78 competitors in the men’s combined event.

He died in Oostkamp, Belgium.

Philippe d’Ursel passed away at 96 years old.
