Peter Sturges Ruckman was born on November 19, 1921, and died on April 21, 2016.

He was an American Independent Baptist pastor.

He was the founder of Pensacola Bible Institute (not to be confused with Pensacola Christian College) in Pensacola, Florida.

Peter was known for his assertion that the King James Version constitutes “advanced revelation” and is the final, preserved word of God for English speakers.

He was the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Pensacola, and his writings and recorded sermons are published by his Bible Baptist Bookstore.

Just like his father, Peter Ruckman demonstrated artistic talent early in life, and he often illustrated his sermons in chalk and pastels while preaching.

During 1965, Peter founded Pensacola Bible Institute, in part because of disagreements with other institutions with regard to Biblical translations.

He continued teaching a Sunday School class and participating in other church-related activities until April 2015, when he retired at 93

He was married three times, the first two marriages ending in divorce.

Ruckman had five children with his wife Janie Bess May.

Peter’s son, P.S. Ruckman Jr., is a professor of political science at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois.

Peter Sturges Ruckman passed away at 94 yrs old.
