Patrick Fernández Flores was born on July 26, 1929, and died on January 9, 2017.

He was a Roman Catholic cleric.

From 1979 to 2004, Flores was the Archbishop of San Antonio, Texas.

He was the first Mexican-American to become a bishop of the Catholic Church.

Patrick Flores graduated from Catholic Kirwin High School (now O’Connell Consolidated High School) in Galveston, Texas.

Flores studied at St. Mary’s Seminary in La Porte, Texas and at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston.

He died of congestive heart failure and pneumonia at the Padua retirement home in San Antonio.

Patrick Flores passed away at 87 years old.
