Otto Frederick Warmbier was born on December 12, 1994 and died on June 19, 2017.
He was an American college student.
After he visited North Korea as a tourist in January 2016, was arrested and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor after being accused of stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel lobby.
But, the United States made diplomatic efforts to seek Warmbier’s release.
However, after two months his imprisonment, Warmbier suffered a major medical crisis that caused severe neurological injury.
Otto was released in June 2017, after nearly 18 months in captivity.
He died six days after his return to the United States, where some U.S. officials blamed North Korea for his death.
Otto Frederick Warmbier passed away at 22 year old.
