Mubarak Begum was born in Sujangarh, Churu, Rajasthan and died on July 18, 2016.

She was an Indian vocalist.

Begum sang in the Hindi and Urdu languages.

Mubarak was a popular playback singer in Bollywood films during the 1950s and 1960s.

Begum had also recorded and given public performances in a number of other genres, including Ghazal and Na`at.

Among her songs are “Mujh ko Apne Gale Lagalo, Aye Mere Hamrahi” (Hamrahi, 1963), Neend Ud Jaaye Teri, Chain se Sone Wale” (Juaari, 1968), “Ae dil bataa hum kahan aa gaye” (Khooni Khazana, 1965), Yeh moonh aur masoor ki daal” with Sharda (Around The World, 1967) and many more.

She has sung a total of 178 songs for Hindi films during her career, and the total number of films where her songs have appeared is 115.

Mubarak Begum was married to Mr. Shaikh, a man of her own community, and was the mother of two children, a son and a daughter.

Mubarak Begum husband and daughter are both dead and she lives with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

Mubarak Begum passed away at 80 years old.
