Maria Eugénia, Portuguese actress, Died at 89


Maria Eugénia was born on April 1, 1927, and died on August 25, 2016.
She was a Portuguese stage and film actress.
Maria appeared in seven Portuguese and Spanish films in the late 1940s.
She also appeared opposite the Italian actor Amedeo Nazzari in a couple of Barcelona-made films including the comedy Unexpected Conflict (1948).
Eugénia received an offer from Vittorio De Sica to work with him, but she turned it down.
She came from an artistic family and was the daughter of a musician.
Eugénia retired from acting following her marriage.
Eugénia was the mother of the Portuguese poet Fernando Pinto do Amaral.
Maria Eugénia passed away at 89 years old.
