Luigi Barbarito, Italian Roman Catholic prelate, Died at 94

Luigi Barbarito was born on April 19, 1922, in Atripalda and died on March 12, 2017.

He was an Italian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.

Barbarito was most noted for his career, spanning four decades between 1969 and 1997, as an Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See.

He studied at the seminary of the Diocese of Avellino and at the Pontifical Seminary of Benevento, being ordained a priest 20 August 1944.

Barbarito studied canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University, graduating in July 1947.
