Koichi Kato was born on June 17, 1939, and died on September 9, 2016.
He was a Japanese politician.
Kato held a seat in the House of Representatives in the National Diet for 13 terms between 1972 and 2012 as a member of the Liberal Democratic Party.
When he had lost his seat at the December 2012 general election, his daughter Ayuko Kato (加藤 鮎子) regained the seat for the LDP at the following election.
Koichi father, Seizo Kato (加藤精三), also sat in the House of Representatives for five terms between 1952 and 1965.
Koichi Kato passed away at 77 years old.
