North Korean politician and military official Kim Chol-man was born on November 2, 1920, in South Pyongan Province and died on December 3, 2018.
Kim Chol-man was a member of prominent committees and organizations, including the Central Military Commission, the Politburo, and the Second Economic Committee.
Chol-man was at the forefront of the North Korean munitions industry, the country’s economic base.
Due to his age, he retired from most of his important posts, eventually, he was not considered a major player in North Korean politics
Kim Chol-man is the brother-in-law of Han Dok-su, former chairman of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.
In 1937, he joined Kim Il-sung’s United Army along with other first-generation leaders such as Ri Ul-sol and Kim Ik-hyon.
Kim Chol-man passed away at 98 years old.
