Kao Ching-yuen was born on May 24, 1929, and died on March 2016.

He was a Taiwanese businessman.

He came from a poor family in Gakkō Village, Hokumon District, Tainan Prefecture, Japanese-era Taiwan (modern-day Xuejia, Tainan).

Kao Ching-yuen was the founder and was, until 2013, the chairman of Uni-President, the largest food Taiwanese corporation, based in Tainan, which distributed products across Taiwan, mainland China and Southeast Asia.

Ching-yuen started to serve as a workman in his teenage years.

He was involved in Taiwan Spinning (台南紡織), a textile processing company in 1954, and became a manager later.

He left Taiwan Spinning in 1966.

Following 1967, Kao Ching-yuen established the Uni-President Corporation.

Kao Ching-yuen was awarded a Management Medal by the Chinese Management Association, in 2003.

His death was confirmed by Uni-President on April 1, 2016, and a funeral was held the same the day.

Kao Ching-yuen passed away at 87 yrs old.
