John Jeremiah McRaith was born on December 6, 1934, in Hutchinson, Minnesota and died on March 19, 2017.

He was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.

McRaith served as Bishop of Owensboro from 1982 to 2009.

His parents were Arthur Luke McRaith and Marie (née Hanley) McRaith.

John grew up with three siblings.

McRaith attended St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, and at Loras College and St. Bernard’s Seminary (both in Dubuque, Iowa).

McRaith was ordained a priest for the Diocese of New Ulm on February 21, 1960.

John Jeremiah McRaith passed away at 82 years old.
