Hagen Friedrich Liebing (nickname “The Incredible Hagen“; was born on February 18, 1961, and died on September 25, 2016.

He was a German musician and journalist,

Hagen was best known as the bassist for the influential punk band Die Ärzte.

During 1986, drummer Bela B invited him to join Die Ärzte.

They both knew each other from early Berlin punk days. The band disbanded in 1988.

Then Hagen Liebing tried his hand at journalism shortly thereafter.

Hagen Liebing wrote several articles for “Tagesspiegel”, and was the senior music editor of “Tip Berlin” since the mid 1990s.

In 1993, after Die Ärzte reunited , he did not join them.

But, he did join them on stage as a special guest in 2002.

During 2003, he published his memoirs “The Incredible Hagen – My Years with Die Ärzte”.

Liebing headed the Press and Public Relations at the football club Tennis Borussia Berlin, from 2003 to 2010.

He died in Berlin.

Hagen Liebing passed away at 55 years old.
