Galina Shergova, Russian writer, Died at 93


Galina Mikhailovna Shergova was born on August 31, 1923, in Chita and died on May 11, 2017.

She was a Soviet and Russian writer and 1978 winner of the USSR State Prize.

Shergova grandfather was the cantonments.

As of 1933, Galina has lived in Moscow.

In the Great Patriotic War she was an employee of the newspaper front of the 5th Panzer Army, The assault!, and received battle wounds.

During 1948 Shergova graduated from the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute.

Shergova became a poet and has worked with documentaries since 1959.

Shergova worked with Roman Karmen.

Shergova husband Alexander Yurovsky (writer), professor of Moscow State University (1921–2003).

Her daughter, is documentary filmmaker, Kseniya Shergova and two granddaughters.

Galina Shergova passed away at 93 years old.
