Frans Geurtsen was born on March 17, 1942, and died on December 12, 2015.

He was a Dutch footballer.

He played at both professional and international levels as a striker.

Frans began his professional career at hometown side Velox, winning promotion to the Eerste Divisie in 1962.

Frans has played for the Utrecht XI in the 1962–63 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, scoring twice against Tasmania Berlin.

Amsterdam club DWS singed him in the summer of 1963, and was the Eredivisie top scorer in both the 1963–64 and 1964–65 seasons.

He won the Eredivisie league title with DWS in 1964.

He received an Achilles tendon injury, which cut short his career and he had to retire in 1971, at only twenty nine years.

Frans Geurtsen debut in the Netherlands in an October 1964 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Albania, immediate scoring a goal.

Geurtsen worked as a technician and coached amateur sides in Noord Holland after he retired.

Frans Geurtsen passed away at 73 yrs old on December 2015 in Alkmaar.
