Fatima Surayya Bajia was born on September 1, 1930, in Karachi, Pakistan and died on February 10, 2016.

She was a renowned Urdu novelist, playwright and drama writer of Pakistan.

Fatima Surayya Bajia was awarded various awards at home and abroad including Japan’s highest civil award in recognition of her works.

Fatima also continued to be an Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh province in Pakistan.

Fatima Surayya was a well-known personality in social welfare, literary Radio, TV and Stage. She was writing for PTV Centres Islamabad and Lahore since the start of the channel.

Bajia wrote her first long play Mehman.

Fatima Surayya Bajia also contributed for the literary programmes like Auraaq, and beauty care programmes under the title Aaraish-e-Khaam-e-Kakal and she also produced some children programmes.

Fatima Surayya Bajia passed away at 85 yrs old.
