Ed Snider, American sports executive, Died at 83


Edward Malcolm “Ed” Snider was born on January 6, 1933, and died on April 11, 2016.

He was the chairman of Comcast Spectacor.

Ed Snider a Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment company that owns the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, the Wells Fargo Center, the regional sports network Comcast SportsNet and Global Spectrum, an international facilities management company.

Ed Snider was formerly owned the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association.

Snider was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, in 1988.

During 1997, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Ed was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame, in 2005.

He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, in 2011.

Ed Snider passed away at 83 yrs old.
