Cristina Adela Foișor (née Badulescu) was born June 7, 1967, in Petroșani and died on January 22, 2017.

She was a Romanian chess player.

Cristina Adela Foișor was an International Master and Woman Grandmaster.

Foisor won the Women’s Romanian Chess Championship five times.

Cristina Adela Foișor had competed for the world championship several times, most recently the Women’s World Chess Championship 2012 when she went out in the first round in an Armageddon game.

During the season 2016/17, Foisor played for Schachfreunde Deizisau in 2. Bundesliga Süd.

Cristina Adela Foișor was married to International Master Ovidiu Foișor (b. 1959), and their daughters are also successful chessplayers: Sabina-Francesca Foișor (b. 1989) is a Woman Grandmaster and Mihaela-Veronica Foișor (b. 1994) is a Woman International Master.

Foișor died at Timișoara County Hospital.

Cristina Adela Foișor passed away at 49 years old.
