William Edgar Newman “Bill” Holdsworth was born on September 17, 1928, in Armley, Leeds, Yorkshire, England and died on July 31, 2016.

He was an English first-class cricketer,

Bill played twenty seven matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1952 and 1953.

He was a right-handed tail end batsman.

Holdsworth also appeared for the Yorkshire Second XI.
