Bangladeshi physician, Rafiqul Islam, Died at 82

Rafiqul Islam was born in 1936 and died on March 6, 2018.

He was a Bangladeshi physician and medical scientist.

Rafiqul was known for the discovery of food saline (Orsaline) for the treatment of Diarrhea.

The British Medical Journal The Lancet referred to its invention of saline as “the most important invention of medical science in the twentieth century”.

Rafiqul Islam passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in 1965. Later, he received high education in Trinity Medicine and Hygiene in Trinity (UK).

Rafiqul Islam died at 82 years old.
