Arpad Goncz, born on February 10, 1922 and died October 6, 2015.

Arpad was a Hungarian liberal politician, who served as President of Hungary from 2 May 1990 to 4 August 2000.

Arpad played a role in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

He was also founding member and Vice Chairman of Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) and Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary before becoming President.

He is currently a member of the international advisory council of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.

Arpad Goncz died at age 93 on October 6, 2015.
