Anne Deborah Atai Omoruto was born on January 1, 1957, in Kumi District circa and died on May 5, 2016.
She was a Ugandan family physician, public health specialist, and academic.
Anne led a team of 12 Ugandan physicians as part of the World Health Organization’s response to the Ebola outbreak in Liberia during 2014.
Anne Atai Omoruto attended the Makerere University School of Medicine, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree.
Omoruto then graduated from the same university with a Master of Medicine in family medicine.
She has served as thr chairperson in the Department of Family Medicine at the Makerere University Medical School and concurrently served as the chair of the Department of Community Medicine at the Mulago National Referral Hospital.
She was a mother of six with her husband Davis Mwaule.
Anne Atai Omoruto passed away at 59 yrs old.
