Albert John Franks was born on April 13, 1936 and died on June 18, 2017.

He was an English footballer.

Franks played in the Football League for Newcastle United and Lincoln City and in the Scottish Football League for Rangers, Greenock Morton and Queen of the South.

Franks retired from football aged 29, joining the Durham Constabulary whom he served for 22 years, principally with the CID in Chester-le-Street, earning 13 commendations.

When he retired from the force, he moved into retail security working internationally as a consultant and lives in Vigo, near Birtley, Tyne and Wear.

Albert John Franks passed away at 81 years old.
