Zhang Ouying

Chinese footballer Zhang Ouying was born on November 2, 1975, in Zhangjiakou, Hebei and died on December 1, 2018.

Ouying competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics and in the 2004 Summer Olympics as well as 1999, 2003, and 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Ouying played with the Chinese team that won the silver medal at the 1999 World Cup.

During the 2000 Chinese Summer Olympics, she completed fifth with the team in 2000.

Ouying played all three matches.

Later, after 4 years Ouying ended in ninth with the Chinese team in the 2004 Summer Olympics.

During 2006 Zhang Ouying married an American and relocated to the United States after her retirement.

Later from 2010-2012, Ouying coached many teams at the San Diego Futbol Academy in Carmel Valley, California.

Then, she coached teams for the San Diego Soccer Club and was often referred to as “Coach O”.

She passed away at 43 years old due to lung cancer in San Diego.
