Zainuri Kamaruddin, also known by his nom de guerre Abu Talhah died on January 13, 2017.
He was a prominent Malaysian Islamist militant.
He fought as commander for Kumpulan Mujahidin Malaysia and later the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s Katibah Nusantara.
During May 2016, he was declared “public enemy No 1” by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Ahmad Zahid Hamidi due to his skills in the construction of improvised explosive devices.
Zainuri was killed by an airstrike on Al-Raqqah during Operation Wrath of Euphrates.
Zainuri Kamaruddin passed away at 50 years old.
