Yuan Geng/袁庚 was born on April 23, 1917, in Ouyang Rushan and died on January 31, 2016.

He was the founder of Shekou Industrial Zone

He became well known after the Establishment of Shenzhen-based state-owned enterprises including China Merchants Bank and Ping An Insurance, and an early proponent of the reform and opening up policy.
