York Larese, American basketball player, Died at 77


York Bruno Larese was born on July 18, 1938, and died on February 6, 2016.

He was an American basketball player and coach.

In his younger years, York attended St. Ann’s academy (now Archbishop Molloy High School) in Queens.

He was a 6’4″ (1.93 m) guard from the University of North Carolina, York was drafted by the NBA twice, once by the St. Louis Hawks in 1960, and once by the Chicago Packers a year later.

He has played seven games for the Packers and was traded to the Philadelphia Warriors.

He took part in Wilt Chamberlain’s famous 100-point game.

York had only played for one season (1961–62) in the NBA.

York Larese also served as a head coach for one season in the American Basketball Association, in the 1969–70 season with the New York Nets.

York Larese passed away at 77 yrs old.
