Yolande Betbeze Fox was born on November 29, 1928, in Mobile, Alabama and died on February 22, 2016.

She was an American singer and beauty pageant titleholder.

She was crowned Miss America in 1951.

Her parents were William, a butcher, and Ethel Betbeze of Mobile.

The young beauty queen was raised in a strict Roman Catholic family of Basque descent, and she attended convent schools.

Her husband was movie magnate Matthew Fox, the former president of Universal Pictures, in 1954.

The couple had one daughter, Yolande “Dolly” Fox Campbell.

Fox husband passed away 10 yrs after their union.

Following that, Fox relocated to Georgetown, Washington, D.C.

Fox had a relationship with Cherif Guellal, with whom she raised her grandchild, Yolande “Paris” Campbell, until Guellal’s death in 2009.

Yolande Fox passed away at 87 yrs old due to of lung cancer.
