Yash Pal, Indian scientist and educationist, Died at 90

Yash Pal was born on November 26, 1926 and died on July 24, 2017.

He was also referred as Yash Pal Singh.

He was an Indian scientist, educator and educationist.

Pal was known for his contributions to the study of cosmic rays, as well as for being an institution-builder.

In his later years, Pal has become one of the leading science communicators of the country.

At the starting his career at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), he later remained chairman of the University Grants Commission from 1986 to 1991.

During 2013, Pal was awarded India’s second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan.

Yash Pal passed away at 90 years old.
