Yannis Kalaitzis /Γιάννης Καλαϊτζής was born on November 11, 1945, and died on February 12, 2016.

He was a prominent Greek cartoonist.

He was known for his editorial cartoons in various Greek daily newspapers.

He grew up in the suburbs of Kokkinia in Athens, where his family owned a coffee shop.

Yannis Kalaitzis was a member of Lambrakis Democratic Youth.

And, was also active for numerous decades and his works have been published in newspapers such as Avgi, Eleftherotypia, Efimerida ton Syntakton, and magazines such as Vavel, Anti, DIO, and Galera.

Yannis Kalaitzis also created the scenic and costume design for the 1977 film Happy Day, which was directed by Pantelis Voulgaris.

Yannis Kalaitzis passed away at 70 yrs old.
