Yami Lester, Australian Aboriginal and anti-nuclear activist, Died at 75

Yami Lester was born in 1942 and died on July 21, 2017.

He was a Yankunytjatjara man, an Indigenous person of northern South Australia.

He had survived nuclear testing in outback Australia is best known as an anti-nuclear and Indigenous rights advocate.

Lester most significant contribution to the rights of Aboriginal people was helping gain recognition for the atomic tests at Maralinga and an acknowledgement for the 1800 Aboriginal people affected.

He has three children Rosemary, Leroy and Karina, a translator and activist.

Yami Lester passed way at 75 years old.
