Wu Wenjun, Chinese mathematician and academician, Died at 97

Wu Wenjun was born on May 12, 1919 and died on May 7, 2017.

He was also well known as Wu Wen-tsün.

He was a Chinese mathematician and academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

During 1957, Wu was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In 1990, Wu Wenjun was elected as an academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences.

Wu Wenjun and Yuan Longping was awarded the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award by President Jiang Zemin in 2000, when this highest scientific and technological prize in China began to be awarded.

Wenjun also received the TWAS Prize in 1990 and the Shaw Prize in 2006.

Wu Wenjun passed away at 97 years old.
