Willie Carroll Townes was born on July 21, 1943, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and died on July 22, 2017.

He was an American football defensive end.

Willie was in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.

Townes played college football at the University of Tulsa.

He played high school football at Rowan High School.

Townes signed with Indiana University but ended up transferring to the University of Tulsa, where he became one of the best defensive linemen in school’s history.

Willie Townes passed away at 74 years old.
