William “Hootie” Johnson, American banker and sports administrator, Died at 86

William Woodward “Hootie” Johnson was born on February 16, 1931, at Augusta, Georgia and died on July 14, 2017.

He is a retired chairman of the executive committee at Bank of America.

He was also a member of the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame, and former chairman of Augusta National Golf Club.

Hootie attended the University of South Carolina on a football scholarship

His parents were Dewey H. and Mabel (née Woodward) Johnson.

Pierrine Johnson was his wife.

They had four daughters; Marie, Jennifer, Sally and Jane and ten grandchildren.

William “Hootie” Johnson passed away at 86 years old.
