William H. O’Dell, American politician, Died at 77

William Hamilton ‘Billy’ O’Dell was born on October 11, 1938, and died on January 7, 2016.

He was an American businessman and politician.

William as a Republican in the South Carolina Senate from 1989 until his death.

Mr. O’Dell was the CEO of O’Dell Corporation, Inc.

William was the son of William B. and Sara Francis O’Dell and was born in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.

William O’Dell earned a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel in 1960.

Himself and his wife Aedra Gail Tisdale are the parents of two children, William B. and Patricia Michelle O’Dell.

Before he was elected to the South Carolina State Senate, O’Dell served as vice-chairman of the Ware Shoals School District 51 board.

Then later as the director of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

O’Dell was first elected to the South Carolina Senate in 1988.

He was the chairman of the General committee.

He also worked on the Banking and Insurance, Finance, Interstate Cooperation and Labor, Commerce and Industry committees.

William O’Dell passed away at 77 yrs old in his sleep of a heart attack.
