William H. Keeler, American Roman Catholic cardinal, Died at 86


William Henry Keeler was born on March 4, 1931, and died on March 23, 2017.

He was an American cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

He served as Archbishop of Baltimore, Maryland, from 1989 to 2007 and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1994.

On July 12, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI accepted Keeler’s resignation and appointed Edwin O’Brien to succeed him as Archbishop of Baltimore.

William H. Keeler passed away at 86 years old.
