Wang Shizhen, Chinese nuclear medicine physician and academician, Died at 100

Wang Shizhen Wáng Shìzhēn was born on March 7, 1916, and died on May 27, 2016.

He was a Chinese nuclear medicine physician and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

Wang was known as the father of Chinese nuclear medicine.

Shizhen built China’s first isotope laboratory and developed the application techniques and methods of isotope treatment in China in 1956.

Then, Wang became a nuclear medicine physician at Peking Union Medical College Hospital.

He was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.

Wang Shizhen passed at 100 yrs old.
