Wally Crouter\ birthname Walter Crouter was born on August 5, 1923, in Lindsay, Ontario and died on died March 28, 2016.

He was a Canadian radio broadcaster.

Wally was popularly known for his career with CFRB radio in Toronto, spanning half a century, most of which was spent as the station’s top-rated morning man.

He joined CFRB after a brief stint at CHEX in Peterborough, Ontario, near his hometown on November 1, 1946.

Wally started out in radio after serving with the Canadian Army in World War II and spending a year in hospital recovering from shrapnel wounds.

Wally Crouter first radio appearance was on CKGW in 1932 as a nine-year-old, award-winning ‘boy soprano’.

Exactly 50 years to the day of his started with CFRB, on November 1, 1996, Crouter, who would be known as Canada’s longest serving radio morning man, retired.

Wally Crouter was subsequently inducted into the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame.

Wally Crouter passed away at 92 yrs old.
