Vladimír Binar, Czech author, Died at 74

Vladimír Binar was born on October 6, 1941, the Great Mezirici, and died on January 13, 2016, Prague.

He was a Czech poet, novelist, translator and literary scholar.

Vladimír Binar studied at Charles University, Czech studies and philosophy, and for several years, he taught at the Faculty of Arts.

Binar was not allowed to practice his profession or publish, he lived for a long time, therefore, in particular as a freelance translator, in the 70s and 80s

Binar worked briefly as a publishing editor.

Following the political changes of 1989, he returned to the Faculty of Arts.

His many vacation travels in French Polynesia influenced his literary work that a book published after 2000.

Binar won two literary prizes: Prizes Czech books and Jaroslav Seifert Prize, in 2012,

Vladimír Binar excelled also as editor of the authors of modern spiritual literature.

Binar lived in Prague.

His wife was Miroslava Binarová (nee Klima, originally from Tahiti).

Vladimír Binar passed away at 74 yrs old.
