Victor Dan Găureanu who was better known as Dan Găureanu was born on November 15, 1967, and died on May 20, 2017.

He was a Romanian fencer.

Victor Găureanu competed in the sabre events at the 1992 and 2000 Summer Olympics.

Găureanu won the bronze medal at the 1999 World Fencing Championships after he was defeated by Wiradech Kothny, who eventually won the gold medal.

Whilst a member of the Romanian team, he earned two bronze medals at the World Championships.

Victor Găureanu passed away at 49 years old.
