Tony Gauci, Maltese businessman, Died at 75

Tony Gauci was born in 1941, and died on October 29, 2016.

He was the proprietor of Mary’s House, a clothes shop in Tower Road, Sliema, Malta.

He was a witness in the Lockerbie Bombing investigation.

Reportedly, the evidence given at the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing trial in 2000, he sold the clothes allegedly wrapped around the improvised explosive device (IED) that brought the aircraft down.

Gauci was the only witness to link Abdelbaset al-Megrahi directly to the IED, and was therefore instrumental in convicting Megrahi on January 31, 2001.

He died in Malta.

Tony Gauci passed away at 75 years old.
